Types of Forehead Lifts
Forehead lifts are either “open” or “endoscopic”. Open browlifts are further subdivided into coronal lifts (incision completely within the hairline) and trichophytic lifts (incision made directly at the hairline). Endoscopic browlifts, on the hand, are executed via much smaller incisions, with the assistance of a hand-held telescope (endoscope). The type of browlift is patient-dependent, and this determination will be made during your consultation with Dr. Shah.
A browlift procedure takes between one to two hours to perform. It may be performed under IV sedation (“twilight anesthesia”) or more formal “general” anesthesia. Patient preference is always taken into consideration.
Aftercare
Aftercare is as important as the procedure itself. Dr. Shah is at hand throughout the recovery period and beyond. It is appropriate to experience a certain amount of swelling in the immediate postoperative period. Recovery from facial surgery, generally speaking, is quite rapid.
